MASSACHUSETTS HAS BANNED

ALL NEW GUN OWNERS!

Massachusetts has, with the swipe of a pen, banned any and all Americans hoping to become new gun owners from purchasing or owning firearms in the state! You read that right! If you are not already licensed to carry firearms in Massachusetts, you are BANNED!

Read this letter that was sent to all Massachusetts BFS (Basic Firearms Safety) Instructors...

Good Afternoon,

As you are aware, on July 25, 2024, Governor Healey signed into law An Act Modernizing Firearms Laws (https://www.mass.gov/doc/h4885-an-act-modernizing-firearm-lawsthe-gun-bill-has-been-signed-and-chaptered-scanned-copy-attached-here/download).   Part of this new law has made changes to the Basic Firearms Instructor Certification Program to include but not limited to:

  1. The State Police’s development of a universal written examination to be utilized by all instructors.
  2. All Basic Firearms Safety (BFS) Courses must include the following components:
    1. (A) the safe use, handling and storage of firearms;
    2. (B) methods for securing and childproofing firearms;
    3. (C) the applicable laws relating to the possession, transportation and storage of firearms;
    4. (D) knowledge of operation, potential dangers and basic competency in the ownership and use of firearms;
    5. (E) injury and suicide prevention and harm reduction education;
    6. (F) applicable laws relating to the use of force;
    7. (G) disengagement tactics; and
    8. (H) live firearms training.
  3. Copies of a new BFS student certificate shall now be forwarded to DCJIS.
  4. Any individual in possession of a License to Carry Firearms or Firearms Identification Card prior to August 1, 2024, does not have to re-take a BFS course for renewal purposes.
  5. A Hunter Safety Course will only be a sufficient substitute for a BFS course for FID applications.

This law goes into effect 90 days from the date of signing – or October 23, 2024.

Currently the Department of State Police is working expeditiously with the Municipal Police Training Commission, the Firearms Records Bureau and the Executive Office of Public Safety and Security to develop guidance and regulations to comply with the new requirements in advance of the October 23, 2024 deadline.

Unfortunately, any classes taught after August 1, 2024, that do not adhere to the updated curriculum will not be sufficient for the issuance of an LTC.  This will need to be disclosed to potential students.

Over the next few weeks we anticipate more correspondence with you, as an instructor, to provide additional information, survey’s, guidelines for accepting new course curriculum, and any changes to this newly signed law.

This would be a good time to submit any overdue student verification forms.

I appreciate your cooperation and patience as we maneuver together through this new legislation.

Sincerely,

Firearms Licensing

So in short... Anyone not already licensed cannot get certified unless/until they take the NEW course curriculum, which Massachusetts has not yet created! In other words... Your right to keep and bear arms has been not just infringed, but DENIED until the state gets around to creating a new course, finding instructors/ranges, etc.

This law is also designed to take down ALL Massachusetts LTC Firearms Instructors! We must all now refund all monies paid by all students who have registered for upcoming classes and we must CANCEL any currently scheduled classes. We are OUT OF BUSINESS until they get around to coming up with a curriculum!

Many instructors are also FFL's (Federal Firearms Licensees). This new MA law restricts us from selling ANY semi-automatic rifle until such a time that the state comes up with a list of "approved rifles," much like they currently do with pistols. Now we must all wait, with our constitutional rights completely infringed, until they decide to create a list of firearms that pass their strict compliance tests. We must wait for the testing, which will be at the expense of the manufacturers and then we must wait for this list... Whenever they get around to it.

THIS IS A BLATENT ATTACK ON THE CONSTITUTION!

What can you do? Start calling your representatives and let them know you will not stand for this attack on our God-given and Constitutional right to keep an bear arms... Not even for a little while so they can figure things out. They should have had it all figured out before swiping that pen across that page.

Law suits are lined up out the door right now. It appears the lawyers first line of attack will be on the unconstitutional ban on taking a class and getting certified TODAY, not tomorrow or next week or next year.

The state knows this is unconstitutional, but they also know they can, with the swipe of a pen, create a mess that will take lawyers and law-abiding citizens YEARS to clean up. They know they will lose in the end but they do not care because the goal is to inflict as much damage on lawful gun ownership as possible before the law gets struck down by higher courts.

We cannot allow this! It is time to get vocal! Please contact GOAL to see how you can get involved! Be sure to sign the petitions they have available. STAY involved until this is struck down!
